This is a beautiful spot with great canal views! Unfortunately, they were closing early for a staff meeting when we arrived, so we were unable to order food & drinks. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area as there isn't another spot like it.

The Anchor is a brilliant spot. Friendly staff, delicious food, and a lovely riverside location. It’s especially nice on a sunny day when you can sit outside and enjoy the view by the water. The menu has a good variety and everything I’ve tried was fresh and well-prepared. Service was attentive without being overbearing, and the overall atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming.

Lovely evening at the Anchor. Great wine food and wonderful service with the young team. Staying overnight in camper for free and wished we were local to come back for more.

Had an impromptu Sunday lunch here and was very impressed by the speed of the service, the quality of the food and the friendly staff. It was noticeable that the Manager, a lady with long blond hair ran a tight ship on what was a very busy extremely hot Sunday, ensuring tables were cleared quickly once guests departed. The ordering system at the bar was efficient and the toilets clean

Wonderful restaurant in a great location. If the weather is nice, be sure to sit outside. The view of the river is wonderful. There are swans and herons. In addition, you can watch the cars cross the bridge and the boats use the lock (built around 1653).

This place is truly a new favourite we stumbled across whilst out for a family meal!! Initially, we booked due to the setting this place is situated at, next to a canal, and has a beautiful outdoor seating area. But the whole place and experience was superb! The food was incredible, tasty and fresh with clean plates all left at the end. Service was slightly slow but worth the wait. It was busy, which is always a good sign.

First visit to the Anchor this afternoon/evening. The meal was very good the weather was great but I wanted to give a big shout out to Joe our waiter. He was a very attentive waiter and engaged with our table very well. A few quick one liners made the visit even better. Would highly recommend a visit to the pub and with any luck you too may have the pleasure of being served by Joe.

What an unforgettable experience at this beautiful location! The food was delicious, and the service was top-notch, making our family’s visit truly special. A huge shout-out to Joe and the incredible team for their warm hospitality! We were in town celebrating our loved one’s 100th birthday, and the team went above and beyond to accommodate our large group of 17 with ease. The lunch we shared here was one of the highlights of our week, creating memories always remember. Thank you for making our celebration so memorable!
